Job Description

    Westaff is now hiring for the 2025 event season.

Looking for General Audio Video Techs, Lighting Techs, Audio Techs, Meeting Room Techs, Speaker Ready Techs, Stage Hands and Ground Riggers 

 $$ Pay based upon experience $$

Starting at $20.00

Shifts and locations vary based on client need and schedule

Ground Rigger

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Read and comprehend floor plans and engineered drawings.
  • Perform truss layout and assembly.
  • Position and set chain motors.
  • Mount lighting elements and other Audio/Video equipment on truss systems.
  • Run cabling to power motors and elements.
  • Assemble graphics and signage.
  • Provide ground support to up riggers.
  • Use hand tools including, but not limited to, wrenches and socket sets.

Lighting Techs:

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Set and strike truss and lighting systems.
  • Identify lighting element types.
  • Mount lighting elements to truss systems.
  • Use of various rigging knots.
  • Assemble light trees.
  • Identify cables and run power.

Audio Tech:

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Set and strike audio equipment.
  • Identify miscellaneous mic cables.
  • Run mic cables to multi-channel boards.
  • Operate audio boards.
  • Work with presenters for proper mic positioning and sound quality.

Video Tech:

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Set up and focus projectors.
  • Set up fast fold screens.
  • Operate cameras.
  • Run video cabling.
  • Video switch and recording.
  • Virtual conferencing.

Meeting Room Techs:

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Set up projectors, fast fold screens, audio equipment and computers for conferences.
  • Provide support to presenters.
  • Troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Open presentation files for presenters.

Speaker Ready Techs: 

  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Assist presenters with the uploading of presentation into server network.
  • Assist presenters with modifications to presentations.
  • Customer services and ability to interact with high-profile presenters in a professional manner.
  • Set up computers, monitors, and temporary network.

You’re paid on Friday for the prior week worked. We pay using the Comdata Payroll Card. You can choose to directly deposit your pay through an automatic transfer with the card or use the card as an ATM/debit card or point-of-sale credit card. Certain rules apply. If you apply through the Bluecrew app, you have the option to receive a check by mail or direct deposit to your checking account. Bluecrew pays weekly and offers a benefit called On Demand Pay, which allows you to access your weekly earnings days before payday.

Your payroll funds can be directly deposited to the bank account of your choice through our Comdata Payroll Card program. To set up direct deposit, log in to the cardholder website at www.cardholder.comdata.com. Enter your username, password, and click the log in button. Hover over the Banking option and click on Direct Deposit. Follow the prompt Steps to Transfer Money From Your Comdata Payroll Card to Your Bank Account.

You can view your paystub through www.cardholder.comdata.com, through the Employbridge mobile app, or by signing up to automatically receive your paystub summary information by email or text message each pay day.
