ProLogistix is currently hiring for a Yard Jockey / Mule Driver in NE Houston! You will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the yard and the safe moving of containers. Qualifications:
• Need to have jockey driving experience minimum of 2 years
• Safely moving trailers from the yard into the correct doors using a mule truck.
• Pay rate: $22.00 / hr.
• Safely operate the yard truck in forward and reverse, to and from loading docks, connect and disconnect airlines, and stabilize loading units
• Maintain radio and/or system contact with Flow & Traffic co-workers to receive or confirm loading unit movements
• Properly detect, correct, and report any loading unit damages
• Performs other duties as assigned Job Description: Skilled worker with a thorough knowledge of procedures and processes associated with supply, storage, and distribution functions in a fast-paced environment. Worker will operate heavy equipment working in the yard switching and moving containers and van trailers around the drop lot and loading areas. Ideal worker for this job will have experience operating a mule truck (heavy equipment).
Requirements: Will consider anyone with solid heavy equipment experience, good work history. The work performed is done outside in rugged ground areas and requires the ability to withstand extreme hot or cold weather for extended periods of time.
Job duties:
• Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and follow all Safety Procedures as outlined in the company’s Safety Manual and OSHA regulations.
• Work environment: in- and outdoor (extreme weather conditions).
• Need to have a valid/current driver’s license.
• Ensure all dock operations are performed in a safe matter as per the company’s Safety Manual. Schedule: 1st shift - 3 am to 12 pm or 2nd shift - 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Sunday to Friday; Saturdays when required.
