About the Role:

As an R&D Technician, you’ll support the Research & Development team by managing multiple tasks in and out of the test kitchen. You’ll perform standardized tests on finished goods, maintain accurate logs and data records, and help ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and product success. This position reports to the R&D Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform bench tests using mixers, fryers, ovens, proofers, and other food-service equipment
  • Execute tests using pH meter, texture analyzer, color analysis tools, and scales
  • Evaluate finished goods for flavor, aroma, color, and texture
  • Scale ingredients, prepare samples, and package for shipment
  • Maintain ingredient inventory and replenish as needed
  • Keep the test kitchen clean and organized
  • Gather ingredients from local stores when needed
  • Support administrative tasks such as updating BOMs and scheduling meetings

Candidate requirements:

  • Able to use fine weight scale (units: grams, ounces, pounds, kilos)
  • Practical skills – experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Language Skills – good working proficiency “English/Spanish”
  • Mathematical skills – from basic to algebra
  • Reasoning ability – strategies of reasoning and problem solving
  • Computer skills – working knowledge of excel and word
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a test kitchen is a plus
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments
  • Must be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to taste test all products produced in our plant that may include certain food allergens
