Job Description

Resource MFG is looking for CNC Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Operators around Neville Island, PA

Location: Neville Island, PA

Available Shifts:

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

3rd Shift: Sunday night 11:00 p.m. through Friday morning 7:30 a.m.

Pay: $19-21hr + Shift Differential

 

Position Summary

The CNC Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Operator is responsible for safely setting up and operating CNC burning, plasma cutting, and drilling equipment to process steel plate products according to customer specifications and company standards. This role is critical to ensuring production accuracy, maintaining equipment performance, and delivering high-quality results in a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Set up and operate CNC oxy-fuel, plasma cutting, and drilling equipment
  • Load and position steel plates using proper material handling methods
  • Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, deburring, and secondary operations
  • Set machine parameters (torch alignment, gas pressures, amperage, cutting speeds)
  • Verify material specifications (thickness, grade, heat/slab numbers)
  • Inspect finished parts and perform first-piece quality checks
  • Measure parts using precision tools to ensure accuracy
  • Record production and inspection data in ERP systems
  • Verify counts, weights, and order requirements before release

Safety & Maintenance

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Properly handle scrap materials and manage workspaces

Quality Assurance

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
  • Identify and report any defects, discrepancies, or equipment issues
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Prevent processing or shipment of non-conforming materials
  • Support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with CNC burning, oxy-fuel, plasma cutting, or machining preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with precision measuring tools
  • Basic computer and ERP data entry skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial setting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Package products according to specifications

  • Complete production and shipping documentation
