Role Summary

As a Experienced Fabrication Specialist, you will use advanced industrial sewing and fabrication techniques to manufacture critical aerospace and high-performance products. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to producing precision-built components that meet the highest safety and quality standards.

Main Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Fabricate and assemble aerospace and high-performance products using industrial sewing equipment, hand tools, and specialized fabrication techniques.
  • Perform precision sewing and assembly on technical fabrics, composites, and other advanced materials while meeting strict quality requirements.
  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and approved standards to ensure accurate production.
  • Set up, adjust, and optimize industrial sewing machines, including thread tension, needle selection, and machine settings for varying materials and product requirements.
  • Inspect work throughout the production process to maintain product integrity and achieve quality and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, process, and fabrication issues to minimize defects and maintain efficient production flow.
  • Perform machine maintenance and basic calibration to ensure reliable operation and consistent output.
  • Apply technical expertise and critical thinking to improve processes, support product development, and solve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and production leadership to meet schedules, quality objectives, and customer expectations.
  • Support additional duties and cross-functional initiatives as needed to contribute to overall business success.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in industrial sewing, textile fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred.
  • Proficiency operating, setting up, and troubleshooting industrial sewing equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience working with technical fabrics, specialty materials, and precision stitching techniques.
  • Strong material handling skills, including measuring, cutting, and fabricating components to specification.
  • Ability to maintain consistent quality standards and perform detailed inspections.
  • Knowledge of machine calibration, thread tension adjustment, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience using fabrication tools and equipment such as presses, grommet tools, heat-sealing equipment, or similar machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production and quality expectations.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing industries.
  • Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification in industrial sewing, textiles, or manufacturing.
  • Certifications such as CSPT, Industrial Sewing Machine Operator, or equivalent industry credentials.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO or AS9100.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes, materials, and production technologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
