Import Logistics Coordinator (Air & Ocean Freight)

Location: Austin, TX Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Logistics Coordinator to support international air and ocean import operations. This role is responsible for managing shipment visibility, customs documentation, freight movement, customer communication, carrier coordination, and operational compliance throughout the import process.

The ideal candidate has experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, import operations, customs processes, air freight, ocean freight, transportation management, and customer service.

Day shift- 8-5pm

Pay $21.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities for International Import Logistics Coordinator

  • Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery.
  • Monitor and track freight movement, ensuring timely shipment status updates.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and data entry within transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Prepare, review, and distribute import documentation for customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, airlines, ocean carriers, trucking providers, and customers.
  • Ensure timely delivery of imported freight while meeting customer requirements and service commitments.
  • Process customer and vendor invoicing accurately and within required timelines.
  • Resolve shipment exceptions, delays, documentation discrepancies, and transportation issues.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, import regulations, and customer SOPs.
  • Support KPI achievement related to shipment visibility, delivery performance, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate proactively with international offices, overseas agents, customers, and service providers.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance transportation efficiency and service quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, suppliers, and customers.

Required Qualifications for International Import Logistics Coordinator

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, import operations, supply chain, or international trade.
  • Knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, customs clearance, and import documentation.
  • Experience working with freight management systems, ERP platforms, or transportation software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications for International Import Logistics Coordinator

  • Experience with freight forwarding operations.
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import requirements.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, international trade regulations, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience coordinating international transportation and customs brokerage activities.
