We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Manufacturing Operator to join our production team in Edina, Minnesota. The Manufacturing Operator plays a key role in the production process by performing machine operations, assembly work, finishing procedures, quality inspections, and material handling activities to ensure customer products are manufactured accurately and delivered on time.
What You'll Do
Production & Manufacturing
- Review work orders, job routers, prints, and production documentation prior to beginning work.
- Operate various manufacturing equipment and machinery to produce custom products.
- Perform secondary operations including:
- Assembly
- Labeling
- Packaging
- Bagging
- Gluing
- Vulcanizing
- Picking and finishing activities
- Perform cutting, kiss-cutting, creasing, and other machine operations.
- Assist with machine setup and operation as needed.
- Monitor equipment performance and report operational concerns promptly.
- Accurately issue and track materials used during production.
- Examine finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Complete production documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Package and prepare finished products for shipment or storage.
Quality Assurance
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process.
- Verify part dimensions, appearance, and packaging requirements.
- Identify defects and communicate quality concerns to supervisors or quality personnel.
- Support first article and in-process inspections.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain production standards.
Teamwork & Communication
- Participate in cross-training opportunities.
- Share knowledge and assist team members when needed.
- Attend department and company meetings.
- Communicate production concerns, safety issues, and improvement ideas to leadership.
- Contribute to a collaborative, continuous improvement culture.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform basic routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Recycle materials and dispose of scrap appropriately.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, job orders, and production documents.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience operating manufacturing machinery.
- Experience in assembly, finishing, converting, fabrication, or production environments.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and measuring devices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Regular use of hands for handling, gripping, and fine manipulation.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and moving materials.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise and exposure to various industrial materials.
