Position Title:      Technician II, Equipment

 

Department: US Equipment

 

Reports To: Equipment Engineer

 

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana

 

 

 

 

 

The Technician II, Equipment reports to the Equipment Engineer. The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment during their assigned shift in the solar cells factory. This role involves ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and reliably to meet production targets. The Technician II, Equipment will work closely with the production team and process team to address equipment issues promptly and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Monitor equipment operation during the shift, addressing any issues that arise and making necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment-related challenges and support smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair actions, and prepare shift reports as needed.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Follow established maintenance procedures and safety protocols to ensure safe and compliant equipment operation.
  • Assist in the setup and calibration of new equipment, and support equipment upgrades and modifications as required.
  • Participate in shift handovers, ensuring clear communication of ongoing issues, completed tasks, and any relevant updates to the incoming shift team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and equipment optimization.
  • Required to adhere to designated working hours, including shift arrangements, as needed to meet operational requirements.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Associate’s degree or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in equipment engineering preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with equipment used in solar cell production, such as screen printers, diffusion furnaces, wet benches and PECVD systems, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, or other non-standard hours as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
