Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for an individual who demonstrates strong attendance, a positive attitude, a solid work ethic, and consistent performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, preparing outgoing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall warehouse operations in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Unload, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Ensure outgoing shipments are accurate and completed on time.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory tracking procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and report inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure accuracy and product integrity.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize warehouse systems, scanners, and basic computer programs to enter and track inventory data.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Support other warehouse functions and complete additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory management preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Experience with inventory management and stock control practices.
  • Ability to perform quality control inspections and identify discrepancies.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks or similar warehouse equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including:
    • Microsoft Outlook (Email)
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
