Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the product complies with the declared weight and meets packaging quality standards.
- Ensure that the Critical Control Point (CCP) works properly and avoid metal contamination in products.
- Ensure that the metal detector system (PCC #2) is functioning effectively, and to confirm team confidence in its operation.
- Detect any deviations in the process and ensure that the product meets the required specifications for visual quality.
- Ensure that all staff comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures and proper hand-washing protocols to avoid product contamination by staff.
- Reflect the problem clearly in the work order format and request corrective maintenance to avoid equipment malfunction and downtime.
- Report verbal or written deviations in the process to avoid contamination of the product and suggest improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Perform glass inspections and record findings. In case of a deviation, report it to Production and Quality Management. The goal is to avoid product contamination due to broken or damaged glass.
- Monitor the presence of pests and conditions for their development within plant facilities. Implement practices to prevent pests from entering the facility, ensuring a pest-free product and food safety.
- In line with the Glass, Ceramics, Brittle Plastic, and Wood Policies, ensure that the process area is free from these materials to prevent contamination of the product with foreign matter.
- Disinfect conveyors, weight verification areas, and work maintenance tables to prevent microbiological contamination and maintain a safe production environment.
- Prevent the sale of products that do not meet specifications, avoiding customer complaints and potential harm to consumers.
- Lead the sanitation efforts in Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4, ensuring thorough cleaning and disinfecting to prevent microbiological contamination.
- Monitor and manage the usage of chemicals or cleaning products to ensure there is no shortage of supplies and that cleaning procedures are followed properly to maintain a hygienic environment.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent education
- Technical Career relation to Quality Food and Safety
- At least 3 years of experience as a Quality Food safety Coordinator
Skills:
- Proficiency in Google Office Suite, Excel
- HACCP and related food safety training
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
- Preferred experience working as a GFSI practitioner
- Preferred experience in the development and maintenance of HACCP Plans
- Preferred experience working on an internal audit team
- Preferred experience working with pest control service providers Required Attributes
Language:
- Excellent verbal and written Communication skills in English and Spanish (Required).
