Yard Rigger

About the Role

The Yard Rigger is responsible for safely directing crane operations during the lifting, moving, and placement of precast concrete panels. This role uses rigging equipment, communicates continuously with crane operators, and ensures panels are properly handled, stored, and prepared for shipment in a safe and efficient manner.

What You'll Do

  • Signal and direct crane operators during panel lifting and placement activities
  • Use rigging devices and equipment for the transportation, storage, and shipment of precast panels
  • Safely hook and unhook lifting cables, ring clutches, spreader bars, and other rigging components
  • Maintain constant communication with crane operators using two-way radios, especially when maneuvering around blind spots
  • Guide loads safely throughout the yard and work areas
  • Place and position dunnage used to store panels in racks and trailers for shipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, highly alert, and communicates effectively while working in a fast-paced production environment. They are a team player who remains aware of their surroundings at all times and is comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and around heavy equipment.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times
  • Commitment to housekeeping standards and safety procedures
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and man lifts and work at elevated heights
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Flexibility to perform additional duties as needed

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Start times may vary and can begin as early as 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM
  • Overtime and extended hours may be required based on production needs

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work outdoors daily in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold, and other seasonal conditions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work
  • Lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive use of hands and arms
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the yard for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Work safely around cranes, heavy equipment, and moving loads
  • Frequently work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, and other elevated work platforms
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including safety boots, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and any additional PPE required for specific tasks

You can view your paystub through www.cardholder.comdata.com, through the Employbridge mobile app, or by signing up to automatically receive your paystub summary information by email or text message each pay day.
